TIRUPATI, Andhra Pradesh – April 1, 2025 – Nara Varipalli, the birthplace of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is undergoing a rapid transformation into a model smart village. Under Naidu’s initiative, the once-remote village is witnessing comprehensive development across various sectors.

The ambitious project, dubbed “Swarn Nara Varipalli” (Golden Nara Varipalli), encompasses 31 hamlets with a population of nearly 6,000. The initiative includes a wide range of improvements, funded by a proposed ₹155 crore budget.

**Key improvements underway include:**

* **Infrastructure:** Construction and repair of roads (₹16 crore allocated for the A. Rangampet to Nara Varipalli road), drainage systems (₹6.73 crore proposed), and the renovation of overhead water tanks. A new water supply scheme (₹9.30 crore proposed) aims to provide clean drinking water to all households. A significant irrigation project (₹120 crore proposed) will draw water from the Handrineeva canal to irrigate the entire 1,104 acres of farmland in the area.

* **Renewable Energy:** The installation of solar panels on over 2,000 homes (₹12.63 crore project; 800 already completed) is expected to generate 57.74 million units of electricity annually.

* **Education:** The local high school in A. Rangampet is being upgraded with the help of Sri City, a local industrial park, and IIT Madras is providing online classes in subjects like AI and robotics.

* **Skill Development:** Training programs are being offered to youth and women in various skills, including tailoring, embroidery, and driving electric autos. Over 15 women have already received electric autos through subsidized loans. Recharging stations for these autos are also being established.

* **Economic Empowerment:** EasyMart is partnering with local shops to provide easy access to goods, eliminating the need for villagers to travel to Tirupati. Financial assistance and loans are being provided to women’s self-help groups.

* **Housing and Amenities:** The government is constructing houses for eligible families under the PMAY scheme and providing gas connections and individual toilets where needed.

The project also focuses on improving agricultural practices, introducing drip irrigation to maximize crop yields and establishing a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) to assist with marketing produce using a QR code-based traceability system. The construction of 103 sheds for cattle is also nearing completion.

Villagers expressed their gratitude for the Chief Minister’s efforts and the government’s support, emphasizing the positive impact on their livelihoods and the overall development of their community. The Nara Varipalli cluster is being hailed as a pilot project for rural development in the state.
