Mon Mar 31 22:10:00 UTC 2025: ## BRS Leader Accuses Telangana Government of Oppressing UoH Students Over Land Dispute

**Hyderabad, April 1, 2025** – Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused the Telangana state government of employing heavy-handed tactics against University of Hyderabad (UoH) students protesting the state’s acquisition of 400 acres of university land.

Rao met with a group of UoH students on Monday, March 31, 2025, who expressed concerns over the government’s actions. He criticized the Congress government’s use of hundreds of bulldozers and excavators to clear the land, alleging large-scale oppression of the student community. He highlighted the importance of the land as one of the last green spaces in western Hyderabad, questioning the government’s decision to proceed without an environmental impact assessment, despite a pending public interest litigation in the High Court.

Rao demanded that the government explain its actions and called on all political parties, including the BJP, to publicly state their position on the issue. The BRS, he assured the students, will continue to advocate for their concerns on all relevant platforms.
