**Amaravati, April 1, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government has officially declared 51 mandals across six districts as drought-affected following the northeast monsoon (rabi) season. The announcement, made via G.O.Ms. No. 3 on March 31st, cites the Government of India Manual for Drought Management-2016 as the guideline.

According to Special Chief Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, R.P. Sisodia, 37 mandals are severely impacted, while the remaining 14 experienced moderate drought conditions. The affected districts include Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, Prakasam, and Kadapa. A detailed list of affected mandals, categorized by severity, has been released and will be published in the District Gazette to facilitate access to credit facilities and relief measures for affected farmers. District Collectors have been instructed to take immediate action.
