**Parchur, Andhra Pradesh (April 1, 2025):** Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced significant developmental plans for the Parchur Assembly constituency during a public gathering on Tuesday. The centerpiece of the announcement is the state government’s full support for the establishment of a shipbuilding and ship repair industry, a proposal championed by MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao. The project is expected to create numerous jobs and stimulate economic growth in the region.
Beyond the shipbuilding initiative, Naidu detailed a range of other projects, including:
* **Infrastructure upgrades:** A ₹9.10 crore double road connecting the national highway to Valaparla Industrial Park; a new water storage tank at Valaparla; permission for an Auto Nagar in the Inkollu-Martur-Parchur area; and ₹5 crore allocated for land acquisition for the Kommuru Canal.
* **Agricultural improvements:** New agricultural markets in Parchur, Karanchadu, Inkollu, and Chinaganjam; and the resolution of drainage issues in Inkollu.
* **Civic amenities:** Modernization of the Nagarjuna Sagar Canal; establishment of NCC offices; renovation of Shadikhanas and dargahs; construction of community halls for various communities; and the construction of crematoriums for BC and OC communities.
* **Social welfare:** Financial assistance through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for medical treatment of the underprivileged; and the commendation of philanthropists Vikram Narayan Rao and Vasantha Srinivasa Rao for supporting underprivileged families.
Naidu also highlighted his government’s commitment to poverty eradication through the ‘P4 model,’ focusing on ensuring basic amenities like housing, pensions, water, electricity, sanitation, drainage, and internet access for all. He announced the upcoming notification for the Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) and teacher recruitments, expected to be completed by June. He further reiterated the government’s commitment to the completion of the Polavaram irrigation project by 2027 and river integration projects. Other initiatives mentioned include the continued operation of over 200 Anna Canteens and the government’s response to the financial package for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and the new railway zone.
The Chief Minister criticized the state of roads under the previous administration, promising improvements, and announced the repeal of the Land Titling Act. Finally, he revealed the upcoming launch of the ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ initiative in May, providing farmers with ₹20,000 assistance under the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, with fishermen also set to receive ₹20,000 in financial aid this month.
