Tue Apr 01 16:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Punjab Kings Secure Second Consecutive Victory, Defeat Lucknow Super Giants by 8 Wickets

**Lucknow, India:** Punjab Kings have registered an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Chasing a 172-run target, Punjab comfortably reached the finish line in 16.2 overs, losing only two wickets in the process.

The victory was fueled by stellar performances from Prabhsimran Singh (69 off 34 balls), Shikhar Dhawan (52 not out off 28 balls), and Nehal Wadhera (43 not out off 25 balls). Their impressive batting display secured Punjab’s second consecutive win.

Digvijay Singh, Lucknow’s bowler, took two wickets, one of which — the dismissal of Punjab’s Priyanshi Arya (8) — became a viral social media sensation due to his celebratory move, mimicking a celebration previously performed by West Indies player Kesrick Williams.

Punjab’s innings started slowly, losing Priyanshi Arya early with the score at 26 runs. However, a crucial 84-run partnership between Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh laid the foundation for their victory. Prabhsimran’s aggressive innings, including three sixes and nine fours, came to an end in the 11th over. Despite this, Dhawan and Wadhera continued the momentum, adding a further 67 runs to secure a comfortable win. Dhawan’s innings included four sixes and three fours, while Wadhera mirrored this performance with the same number of boundaries.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants, after winning the toss and opting to bat, posted a competitive 172 thanks to notable contributions from Ayush Badoni (41 off 33 balls), Nicholas Pooran (44 off 30 balls), and Abdul Samad (27 off 12 balls). Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the Punjab bowlers, claiming three wickets.
