Tue Apr 01 01:00:00 UTC 2025: ## YSRCP Leaders Accused of Massive Land Grab in Andhra Pradesh

**Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh –** A major land encroachment scandal involving YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders is unfolding in YSR district, Andhra Pradesh. Investigations reveal hundreds of acres of government land have been illegally seized and used to build large estates.

The latest case involves N. Vishwanatha Reddy, the YSRCP’s Badvel constituency coordinator and brother-in-law of MLC D.C. Govindar Reddy. A drone survey conducted by revenue officials Friday confirmed that Reddy and his associates had illegally occupied 188.92 acres of government land near Chinthalapalle village. Reddy alone allegedly appropriated 114.78 acres, constructing a large estate including a substantial cattle shed and cultivating various crops. His associates, Jaganmohan Reddy (22.61 acres), Anjaneyaprasad (24.39 acres), and Vavilla Ramnayya (27.14 acres), were also implicated.

The encroached land includes floodplains and forest areas. District Collector Cherukuri Sridhar has ordered immediate repossession of the land and demolition of any structures built on it. A team will visit the site in the coming days. The Collector has also instructed officials to conduct a thorough investigation into similar land grabs across the district.

This follows recent investigations into land grabs in B. Kodur mandal, where surveys revealed YSRCP leaders were involved in the illegal acquisition of land, including the alleged illegal registration of a school property. Reports on these findings have been submitted to the District Collector.

Previous reports had already highlighted land acquisitions by Rajampet MLA Akkepati Amarnath Reddy and family members of key YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, including the alleged appropriation of 55 acres of forest land in Sajjala’s estate. Authorities are now working to bring those responsible to account.
