Mon Mar 31 02:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Wife Identifies Missing Fort Stewart Soldier in Lithuania
**SAVANNAH, GA** – The wife of one of four Fort Stewart soldiers missing in Lithuania since last week has come forward to identify him. Georgia Franco told 11Alive that her husband, 25-year-old Sergeant Edvin Franco, is among the missing. The couple, who welcomed their first child in October, met after Sgt. Franco moved from Glendale, California, to Savannah, Georgia, where Mrs. Franco had relocated from Easley, South Carolina.
Mrs. Franco’s concerns were raised when her husband failed to send his usual morning text. She later received the devastating news from military officials at 11 p.m. Tuesday night. “They knocked on my door and told me their status was unknown,” she said, adding that she and her family have received overwhelming support from crisis teams and chaplains since then.
The search for the four soldiers continues, hampered by the soldiers’ vehicle, which is reportedly stuck 15 feet deep in mud. Efforts to reach the vehicle by divers have so far been unsuccessful.
