Mon Mar 31 14:05:53 UTC 2025: ## Thiruvananthapuram Water Supply Disruption Planned for Infrastructure Upgrades

**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – March 31, 2025** – Residents of Thiruvananthapuram are advised of a planned water supply disruption affecting several areas of the city and two nearby panchayats from April 2nd to 4th. The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) announced the interruption, citing essential infrastructure upgrades at the Aruvikkara water treatment plant.

The 74 mld Aruvikkara plant will be shut down during this period, resulting in a complete water cut for numerous Thiruvananthapuram Corporation wards including Kanjirampara, Pangode, and several others (full list available in the original article). Vellayani, Thennoor, and parts of Kalliyoor and Pallichal panchayats will also experience complete disruptions. Partial disruptions are expected in other areas including Palayam, Vanchiyoor, and Pattom.

The KWA will undertake three major projects: replacing a damaged valve on the transmission main, installing a flow meter and valve to improve supply to Nemom-Vattiyoorkavu, and realigning a transmission main near the Karamana underpass due to railway line doubling works.

The disruption will last from 8 a.m. on April 2nd to 8 a.m. on April 4th. Residents seeking further information can contact the KWA’s toll-free number 1916.
