**Chennai, March 31, 2025** – The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) will complete the renovation of Victoria Public Hall by June, Mayor R. Priya announced on Monday. The renovation, which began in 2023 and is funded under the Singara Chennai 2.0 scheme, includes establishing an art gallery on the first floor and transforming the hall into a museum showcasing its historical importance.
In other news from the press meet, following an inspection with Minister P.K. Sekarbabu, Mayor Priya revealed plans to erect a statue of Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi in either Murasoli Maran Park or another park in the Kolathur constituency. A new community hall is also slated to open soon in the same constituency.
Minister Sekarbabu added that the state government is actively working to resolve temple-related conflicts and ensure smooth public worship. He confirmed the reopening of the Dharmaraja Droupadi Amman temple in Villupuram district within a week. The officials also inspected and reviewed improvement plans for Murasoli Maran Park and M. Karunanidhi Park in Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar constituency.
