**Welverdiend, South Africa** – A 37-year-old South African man, Hugo Ferreira, has pleaded guilty to the rape and murder of his eight-day-old daughter. The horrific crime, which took place in June 2023 at their home near Welverdiend, involved extreme physical and sexual abuse resulting in the infant’s death from severe head injuries.
