**New Delhi** – Sanoj Mishra, a film director who recently offered actress Monalisa a role in his film following the 2025 Kumbh Mela controversy, has been arrested on rape charges. The arrest follows the Delhi High Court’s rejection of his bail plea.
Mishra, 45, was arrested in Ghaziabad on March 30th and is being held at the Nabi Karim police station. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against him on March 6th, 2024, alleging rape, assault, forced abortion, and threats. The charges stem from allegations made by a woman who claims Mishra subjected her to years of physical abuse.
While Mishra gained recent attention for his offer to Monalisa, the actress has since released a video stating that he considers her like a daughter, seemingly distancing herself from the allegations. The case is currently under investigation.
