Mon Mar 31 14:39:43 UTC 2025: ## Pondicherry Volunteers Clean Up Pondy Marina Beach
**PUDUCHERRY, March 31, 2025** – Over 150 volunteers participated in a beach cleanup at Pondy Marina on Sunday as part of the 11th annual Pondicherry Heritage Festival. The volunteers, representing NSS, Clean Earth, and People for Pondicherry Heritage, collected approximately 430 kg of trash, including plastic, paper, and glass bottles.
The cleanup initiative, focused on raising awareness about conserving the city’s natural heritage, highlights the festival’s evolving focus. Architect Suguna Selvam noted that since its inception in 2015, the festival has expanded from celebrating the built environment to encompassing natural and cultural heritage, this year under the theme “Sustainable Heritage.”
