Sun Mar 30 22:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Knicks Legend Walt Frazier, 80, Shows No Signs of Retirement

**New York, NY** – New York Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier celebrated his 80th birthday this weekend with no plans to slow down. The Hall of Famer and beloved MSG Network color commentator told the New York Post he has no intention of retiring anytime soon.

“I don’t see retirement anytime soon,” Frazier stated, expressing his continued love for his role. While acknowledging a reduced travel schedule, he remains committed to broadcasting home games and envisions a future as a team ambassador, engaging with fans.

Frazier, alongside play-by-play announcer Mike Breen, has been a staple of Knicks broadcasts since 1999. His distinctive style and commentary have become synonymous with the Knicks experience, providing a welcome constant in the face of recent departures of other prominent sports broadcasters.

His optimism extends to the current Knicks team, which he believes possesses a legitimate shot at an NBA championship – a feat last accomplished by the Knicks in 1973, a team Frazier himself starred on. He credits the passionate Madison Square Garden crowd as a key factor, recalling his own 36-point, 19-assist performance in Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals as evidence of the crowd’s impact.

“Once you get in the playoffs in New York, anything can happen with the fans,” Frazier said. “They can catapult them.”

To celebrate Frazier’s milestone birthday, MSG Network is hosting a “Clyde Takeover Day” on Sunday, featuring a marathon of Knicks programming culminating in the Knicks game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
