Mon Mar 31 03:20:00 UTC 2025: **Middle Tennessee and Kentucky Hit by Severe Storms, Tornado Confirmed**

NASHVILLE, TN – Middle Tennessee and parts of Kentucky were hit by severe thunderstorms Sunday night, resulting in at least one confirmed tornado and numerous tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings across the region. The National Weather Service issued a First Alert Weather Day for Sunday night and again for Wednesday.

A tornado touched down in McEwen, Humphreys County, Tennessee, around 10:20 p.m. Numerous tornado warnings were issued throughout the evening for counties including Dickson, Humphreys, Hickman, Madison, and Stewart in Tennessee, and Logan and Simpson counties in Kentucky. Severe thunderstorm warnings, carrying the threat of damaging winds, large hail, and further tornadoes, were widespread across the region, affecting numerous other counties in both states.

The storms brought heavy rain and the potential for flooding in low-lying areas. Residents were urged to have multiple ways of receiving weather alerts and to avoid unnecessary travel during the height of the storms. The severe weather threat was expected to continue into the early morning hours of Monday.
