**Hyderabad, Telangana –** The Singareni Collieries Educational Society (SCES) will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Aryabhata, India’s first satellite, with a series of events across Telangana. The celebrations, planned for April 19th, 2025, aim to foster students’ interest in space science and technology.
Activities will include quizzes, essay writing, and drawing competitions held at all SCES institutions, encompassing nine schools, a women’s degree and postgraduate college, and the Singareni Collieries Polytechnic College. The events will highlight the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) achievements and future missions. G Srinivas, secretary of SCES, announced the initiative, emphasizing the historical significance of Aryabhata’s launch and its impact on India’s space program.
