**Ramanathapuram, March 30, 2025** – A 38-year-old head constable with the Madurai police, Ashiq Ahamed, died in a head-on collision near Paramakudi on Sunday. Ahamed, a native of Theni district and stationed at the Avaniapuram police station, was returning to Madurai with his family after visiting relatives near Ariyaman Beach to celebrate Ramzan. The accident resulted in six other passengers in both vehicles sustaining serious injuries and being admitted to Paramakudi Government Hospital. Paramakudi police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
