**Hyderabad, March 31, 2025** – Hyderabad police have apprehended a repeat offender, Shaik Saddam Hussain (32), responsible for a series of thefts across the city. Hussain, a resident of Mallepally, was arrested while attempting to sell a stolen gold chain worth ₹1.7 lakh.
According to police, Hussain primarily targeted passengers on RTC buses, committing at least 11 thefts in recent months. CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying and apprehending him at Mallepally crossroads. During interrogation, he confessed to the crimes, including the theft of a woman’s gold chain at Mehdipatnam bus stop on March 25th.
Police revealed Hussain is a known suspect with a lengthy criminal record, having been arrested for similar offenses previously. Since 2010, he has been linked to 46 cases of theft and pickpocketing. Despite prior arrests, he continued his criminal activities after being released on bail.
The stolen gold chain has been recovered, and Hussain has been remanded to judicial custody. The arrest marks a significant step in curbing petty crimes within the city.
