**Kanniyakumari, March 31, 2025** – The Great Indian Cyclothon, a 25-day awareness campaign focused on coastal security and conservation, concluded in Kanniyakumari on Monday. Flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on March 7th from Ranipet, the rally traversed 6,553 kilometers along India’s east and west coasts, passing through 11 states and union territories.
125 cyclists participated in the “Surakshit Tat Samriddh Bharat” (Secured Coast, Prosperous India) initiative, engaging with 58 coastal communities to raise awareness about security threats such as smuggling and illegal intrusion, as well as the importance of ecological conservation. The cyclists were met with enthusiastic welcomes and cultural performances at each stop. The event successfully concluded, leaving a trail of heightened awareness in its wake.
