**Amman, Jordan –** Indian wrestlers made a strong showing at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan, securing multiple medals. Udit, a 20-year-old, won silver in the men’s freestyle 61kg category after defeating competitors from Kyrgyzstan and China. He lost a closely fought final to Japan’s Takara Suda. In a remarkable comeback, Olympian Deepak Punia, a former 86kg World Championship silver medalist, secured another medal by advancing to the 92kg final after defeating wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan and Japan. He will face Iran’s defending champion in the final. Mukul Dahiya (86kg) and Dinesh (125kg) are also still in contention for bronze medals. The championships concluded on March 30th, 2025.
