Mon Mar 31 09:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh: Ex-Minister Served Notice, Kodali Nani Flown to Mumbai for Treatment, HCU Protests Escalate

**Hyderabad, March 31, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a flurry of developments today, ranging from political actions to a tragic incident of violence. Former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy received another police notice to appear for questioning regarding an illegal mining investigation in Nellore district. Police delivered the notice to his Hyderabad residence as he was unavailable.

Meanwhile, former minister Kodali Nani, who has been hospitalized in Hyderabad for the past five days due to heart problems, was flown to Mumbai for further medical treatment by his family.

The Hyderabad Central University (HCU) continues to be a focal point of unrest. Following protests by students against the proposed sale of university land, police have filed cases against several students, including PhD scholars Erram Naveen Kumar and Dr. Rohit Bondugula, affiliated with ABVP and SFI student unions, respectively. MP Eatala Rajender strongly condemned the police action and demanded the government revoke its decision to sell the land, threatening direct action if the decision isn’t reversed. Heavy police presence remains at the university following overnight tensions and arrests.

Elsewhere in the state, a security lapse occurred at the Alipiri checking point in Tirumala, where a motorcyclist evaded security checks. The individual, identified as Amir Anjad Khan from Tirupati, was later apprehended.

A horrific incident of gang rape was reported in Nagarkurnool district, where a woman was assaulted by eight men while visiting an Anjaneya Swamy temple. Six suspects are in custody, with police actively searching for the remaining two.

In a separate development, DGP Jitender has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate cases related to betting apps, involving 25 individuals from Tollywood, Bollywood, YouTube, and television. The SIT has been given 90 days to complete the investigation.

Finally, a clash between youths at the Gundabrahmayya Jatra in Gavi-cherla, Warangal district, resulted in the death of one individual, Banni from Kuntapalli. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
