Sun Mar 30 23:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Angel City FC Faces Tough Test Against Seattle Reign
**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Angel City Football Club (ACFC) heads to Seattle this weekend for a challenging match against the Reign, looking to build on their positive start to the NWSL season. Despite two consecutive 1-1 draws against San Diego Wave FC and the Portland Thorns, ACFC interim coach Sam Laity sees room for improvement in consistency.
“With two ties, not losing is a big thing,” said forward Claire Emslie. However, she acknowledges the formidable challenge posed by Seattle, a team ACFC has historically struggled against, losing eight of their previous eleven meetings. Emslie highlighted Seattle’s tactical flexibility and organization as key factors.
Laity praised Seattle’s blend of experienced players and promising young talent, but believes ACFC can gain control of matches for longer stretches. “The objective for this game is to grab ahold of the game early and have control for longer periods,” he stated.
The match against Seattle marks ACFC’s final game before a significant international break. Several key players will be away on international duty, including Claire Emslie (Scotland), Savy King and Gisele Thompson (US U-23 camp), Alyssa Thompson (USWNT), Angelina Anderson (USWNT training camp), Casey Phair (South Korea), and Kennedy Fuller (US U-19 camp). Angel City’s next NWSL match is scheduled for April 12th against the Houston Dash.
