**DETROIT, MI** – A possible explosion at an apartment building on Detroit’s west side early this morning left seven people hospitalized, including five children. Twelve residents – six adults and six children – were rescued from the building in the 1300 block of Littlefield Street around 4:00 a.m. Three of the injured sustained severe injuries.
Fire Commissioner Charles Simms praised the quick response of firefighters, stating that their actions prevented a potentially far worse outcome.
