**Mau, Uttar Pradesh:** Eid al-Fitr was celebrated with enthusiasm and camaraderie in the Madhuban tehsil of Mau district on Monday. Muslim communities across several villages, including Dargah, Sipah, Bibipur, Dubari, Fatehpur, and Maryadpur, participated in the festivities.
Special prayers (namaz) were offered at various Eidgahs (prayer grounds). Following the prayers, many visited local graveyards to pay respects to their ancestors. In Dargah, a significant gathering took place at the shrine of Syed Meera Shah Baba, where prayers were led by Hafiz and Qari Anisur Rahman. After the prayers, people exchanged greetings and embraced each other. A notable display of Hindu-Muslim unity was seen as Hindu community members joined in offering Eid greetings to their Muslim neighbours.
Fairs were organized in Dargah and Fatehpur Rauza, providing entertainment, particularly for children.
Local administration ensured tight security arrangements, with police deployed at all mosques and Eidgahs, including a PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) presence at the sensitive Dargah Eidgah. SDM Madhuban Akhilesh Kumar Yadav, CO Abhay Kumar Singh, and police station in-charge Sanjay Tripathi inspected all Eidgahs. The collaborative spirit between Hindu and Muslim communities was particularly evident in Dargah, with numerous Hindu residents visiting the Eidgah to extend their greetings. Prominent figures from both communities participated in the celebrations.
