**Cairo, Egypt –** Tunisian actress Inas Al-Najjar has passed away after a long battle with illness, according to a recent announcement by actress Heidi Selim. The news has cast a shadow over the Egyptian and Tunisian artistic communities.
Reports indicate Al-Najjar’s condition deteriorated rapidly despite appearing healthy just days prior. She reportedly suffered from blood poisoning following a gallbladder rupture, falling into a coma and subsequently being hospitalized. Despite being placed on life support, she did not respond to treatment and succumbed to her illness.
Al-Najjar, a prominent actress in recent years, hailed from Sfax, Tunisia. Her career began with a music video appearance alongside Baha Sultan before being discovered by director Mohamed Al-Najjar (her mentor and namesake), who cast her in her debut film, “Meedo Mashakel.” She went on to star in numerous films, including “Bahabak Wa Ana Kaman” and “Ali Spicy,” as well as television series such as “Yetaraba Fi Azoo,” “Ali Mubarak,” and the recently completed Ramadan 2025 series “Al-Halangi” starring Mohamed Ragab. Mohamed Al-Najjar is credited with giving her the stage name Inas Al-Najjar.
Her untimely death is a significant loss to the Arab entertainment industry.
