**PANAJI, INDIA –** A tourist has claimed he was physically assaulted and verbally abused near Madgaon railway station in Goa, sparking concerns about safety in the popular tourist destination. The man, who detailed his ordeal in a Reddit post, said the attack stemmed from a minor traffic incident.

According to his account, the man, who rented a car for his trip with his girlfriend, inadvertently cut off two local men on a scooter while driving to Madgaon station after dropping his girlfriend at Goa Airport. He insists there was no contact between the vehicles.

However, the two men allegedly followed him to the station, blocked his car, and threatened him. One of the men reportedly picked up a stone and threatened to break his windshield. When the tourist opened his window to de-escalate the situation, he was punched repeatedly and subjected to verbal abuse. He claims the attackers berated him for being an outsider.

The tourist managed to escape with the help of other locals, barely making his train and car return deadline. He stated in his Reddit post that the experience has left him deeply disturbed, and he has vowed never to return to Goa. He intends to file a police complaint but was unable to obtain any video footage of the incident or the perpetrators.

The post has generated significant discussion online, with other users sharing similar experiences of harassment and aggressive behavior in Goa. Some commented on escalating issues with transportation costs and a perceived rise in vigilantism. Several users stated they would also avoid visiting Goa in the future due to these concerns. There is currently no official confirmation whether a police report has been filed regarding this incident.
