Sun Mar 30 12:24:23 UTC 2025: ## Trees Crash Down on Tourists in Himachal Pradesh, Leaving Casualties

**KULLU, INDIA** – A devastating incident in the popular Himachal Pradesh tourist destination of Manikaran left at least two people buried under fallen trees this evening. Several trees were uprooted by strong winds, crashing onto parked vehicles and food stalls near the Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara.

Videos from the scene show cars crushed by large branches, and a distressed man crying out for help, indicating fatalities. One video depicts a man assisting a woman with bloodstains on her clothing. A rescue operation is currently underway.

The incident occurred near the Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, at an altitude of 1,829 meters, approximately 40 kilometers from Kullu. The area experienced strong winds, consistent with a yellow weather warning issued earlier this week by the Meteorological Department for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) across four Himachal Pradesh districts, including Kullu. The exact number of casualties and extent of injuries remains unclear as rescue efforts continue.
