Sun Mar 30 06:36:04 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Temples Overflow with Devotees for Ugadi Celebrations
**VISAKHAPATNAM, March 30, 2025** – Major temples across Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, witnessed an unprecedented surge in devotees on Sunday, celebrating the Ugadi festival. The third day of the Ugadi Mahotsavams at Srisailam’s Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramarambha temple saw a massive turnout.
Temples such as Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy, Sri Kanyakaparameswari, and Ishwarya Venkateswara Sametha Astalakshmi in Vizianagaram were adorned with flowers and mango leaves, reflecting the festive spirit. The Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple in Arasavilli also experienced a significant increase in visitors, exceeding typical Sunday crowds.
Special pujas were conducted across the region, with priests performing rituals at various temples, including the Lord Shivabalaji temple in Banker’s Colony, Srikakulam, and Sri Vijayaganapati temple in Srikakulam. Elaborate arrangements were made by temple trusts to accommodate the large number of devotees.
The celebrations extended beyond religious observances. The SSR Charitable Foundation distributed clothing and essential goods to the needy in Srikakulam. The increased demand also led to a rise in the prices of fruits and flowers, typical for festive occasions. The Andhra Pradesh government also organized grand celebrations to mark the festival.
