**VISAKHAPATNAM, Andhra Pradesh, March 30, 2025** – Thousands of devotees flocked to temples across Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts on Sunday to celebrate Ugadi, the Telugu New Year. Major temples, including Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple and Sri Kanyakaparameswari temple in Vizianagaram, and Sri Vijayaganapati temple in Srikakulam, were adorned with flowers and mango leaves, reflecting the festive spirit.
The Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramarambha temples in Srisailam also saw large crowds attending the Prabhotsavams as part of the three-day Ugadi Mahotsavams. The Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple in Arasavilli experienced an especially large turnout, exceeding the usual Sunday crowds. Special pujas were performed at numerous temples throughout the region.
Beyond the religious celebrations, the SSR Charitable Foundation distributed clothing and essential goods to the needy in Srikakulam, adding a charitable element to the Ugadi festivities. The widespread participation highlights the cultural significance of Ugadi in the region.
