**CAPE ELIZABETH, ME** – Jill Marie (Taylor) DeMarco, a 61-year-old resident of Cape Elizabeth, passed away peacefully at home on March 8th, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Diagnosed in December 2024, DeMarco faced her illness with unwavering strength and was sustained by the love and support of her family and friends.

DeMarco, born in Gloversville, New York, had a distinguished career spanning 35 years with the New York State government. She held various positions, including associate budget analyst and program research specialist, before retiring in 2018. She was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to her colleagues.

In 2022, DeMarco and her husband, Michael, fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Maine. She embraced her new community, enjoying the outdoors, exploring Cape Elizabeth’s trails, and spending time at Willard Beach. DeMarco was also a devoted grandmother, cherishing moments with her grandsons.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, DeMarco was a woman of deep faith with diverse interests including poetry, reading, and athletic pursuits such as swimming, kayaking, and participating in the Beach to Beacon races. She was a passionate advocate for cancer survivors and was preparing for a local triathlon before her diagnosis.

In lieu of a formal service, DeMarco requested that friends and family honor her memory by performing acts of kindness, supporting local animal shelters, or donating to Tri for a Cure. She is survived by her husband, son, grandsons, siblings, and extended family.
