In Myanmar, the confirmed death toll soared to 1,644 on Sunday, a significant increase from 1,002 reported earlier. The number of injured stands at 3,408, with 139 still missing. Rescuers and residents are desperately searching through rubble in the devastated city of Mandalay, where aftershocks continue to rattle the region. The shadow National Unity Government announced a unilateral partial ceasefire to facilitate relief efforts.

Meanwhile, in Thailand, the earthquake claimed at least 17 lives, with 32 injured and 83 missing. A significant portion of the missing are believed to be from the collapse of a 30-story building under construction in Bangkok. The Bangkok Metropolitan Authority is coordinating rescue operations.
