Sat Mar 29 16:03:19 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka Launches State-Wide E-commerce Platform

**Bengaluru, March 29, 2025** – The Karnataka government is set to launch a new e-commerce platform, spearheaded by Mysore Sales International Ltd. (MSIL), to boost sales of government and private products. The initiative, modeled after the Central government’s GeM portal, aims to create a single marketplace for a diverse range of goods.

Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, announced a four-phase rollout. Phase one will feature only MSIL products. Subsequent phases will gradually incorporate offerings from other government enterprises like Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd., Lidkar, Mysore Silk, Cauvery Emporium, and KMF (Nandini), as well as products from MSMEs and women’s self-help groups. The platform will eventually expand to include consumer electronics and fresh produce.

The platform will streamline government procurement, allowing departments to purchase stationery and other necessities without the need for tenders. It will also provide a direct-to-consumer sales channel for participating entities. Minister Patil cited India’s large internet user base as a key factor driving this initiative. The project’s implementation roadmap is currently being developed.
