**Chennai, March 30, 2025** – Renowned Tamil poet and lyricist Kavignar Muthulingam was celebrated on Saturday at a ceremony hosted by the South Indian Film Writers’ Association in Chennai. The event recognized his outstanding contribution to the Tamil film industry spanning over five decades.
Actor, director, and association president K. Bhagyaraj highlighted Muthulingam’s prolific career, noting he had penned over 1,500 songs. Bhagyaraj emphasized Muthulingam’s exceptional talent and the impressive turnout at the event as a testament to his widespread popularity.
Industrialist Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti and VIT founder-chancellor G. Viswanathan also lauded Muthulingam’s achievements, praising his lyrical prowess and his broader skills as a speaker and writer. Several of Muthulingam’s recent works were also released during the ceremony.
