**Chennai, March 30, 2025** – Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss has called on the Tamil Nadu government to create dedicated Tamil teacher positions in primary and middle schools, mirroring the system in higher education institutions. He also urged the enforcement of a law mandating Tamil teaching in private schools.
Dr. Ramadoss highlighted the plight of over 50,000 Tamil literature graduates with B.Ed degrees who are unemployed. He stated that the lack of specific Tamil teacher postings in government schools up to Class VIII and the non-enforcement of the compulsory Tamil subject law in private schools are the primary causes of this unemployment crisis. He emphasized the importance of qualified Tamil teachers for effective language instruction and criticized successive governments for ignoring this issue. The PMK leader considers this a serious injustice to the Tamil language and its teachers.
