**Vellore, March 29, 2025** – The Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore concluded a successful colorectal cancer awareness campaign this month. The initiative, organized by the Surgical Nursing Unit and Surgery Unit II, focused on the theme “Colorectal cancer: Preventable, Treatable and Beatable.”
The campaign featured a variety of engaging activities designed to educate patients, families, staff, and students about colorectal cancer risk factors, screening protocols, diagnosis, and treatment. An exhibition with informative banners, a multi-lingual puppet show, and interactive games like word puzzles and picture connections helped convey crucial information in an accessible and entertaining format.
A highlight of the event was a survivors’ meet, where individuals shared their experiences, offering hope and inspiration to others. Their stories emphasized resilience and the importance of continued support from family and medical professionals. The survivors also provided valuable advice on healthy living and dietary habits.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Rajavelu, former dean of Government Medical College and Hospital (GVMCH), and CMC officials. The organizers reported overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants.
