**Chennai, March 30, 2025** – A SpiceJet flight from Jaipur made an emergency landing at Chennai airport this morning after experiencing a tyre malfunction. Airport officials confirmed that the aircraft, which departed Jaipur around 2 a.m., landed safely around 5:45 a.m. All passengers are reported to be safe.
According to SpiceJet, Air Traffic Control alerted the crew to a piece of tyre found on the Jaipur runway shortly after takeoff. While the flight continued to Chennai as initial checks showed no immediate problems, a precautionary landing was carried out upon arrival. A post-landing inspection revealed damage to wheel number 2, with tyre pieces detaching. The airline attributed the incident to a “main wheel tyre tread loss” on the aircraft’s main wheel tyre. No other damage to the aircraft was reported.
