Sun Mar 30 16:36:42 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Launches Ambitious Poverty Eradication Program
**Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh –** Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched a groundbreaking initiative, “Zero Poverty – P4,” on Sunday, aiming to eradicate poverty in the state by 2029. The program, a key component of the Swarnadra 2047 vision, leverages a unique Public-Private-People Partnership (P4) model to foster inclusive growth.
The P4 initiative pairs the wealthiest 10% of the population (“Margadarsies” or mentors) with the poorest 20% (“Bangaru Kutumbams” or golden families). Margadarsies will provide financial support, mentorship, and career guidance, while the government will facilitate the process and monitor progress through digital dashboards.
Chief Minister Naidu expressed confidence in the program’s success, highlighting its institutionalized approach compared to previous individual or CSR efforts. He drew parallels to global philanthropists like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, and cited historical examples of mentorship in India. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan emphasized the initiative’s focus on creating self-sustaining families, rather than mere financial aid.
The program has already identified 30 lakh families and selected initial participants. Leading industrialists have committed to supporting families, illustrating the program’s immediate impact. Mr. Naidu reiterated his commitment to eradicating poverty through this structured and scalable model, envisioning today’s recipients becoming tomorrow’s mentors. The launch event was attended by numerous officials, ministers, legislators, industrialists, and approximately 10,000 people.
