Sat Mar 29 23:31:29 UTC 2025: ## American Woman Released by Taliban After Drone Charge

**Kabul, Afghanistan –** An American woman, Faye Dail Hall, detained in Afghanistan since February on charges of unauthorized drone use, has been released, according to a source familiar with the matter and a social media post by former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad. Hall’s release, which occurred on Thursday, March 27th, was reportedly facilitated by Qatari negotiators. This marks the fourth release of an American citizen from Afghanistan since January. Her release follows the recent freeing of George Glezmann, an airline mechanic held for over two years, and a previous deal brokered by Qatar that secured the release of Ryan Corbett and William McKenty. The releases coincide with reports that the U.S. lifted bounties on several senior Taliban figures. Hall is expected to return home soon.
