Sun Mar 30 02:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Local Beverage Giant Lianfa International Expands Globally, Eyes US Expansion with TSMC

**Taipei, Taiwan** – Lianfa International, a publicly listed Taiwanese food and beverage company, celebrated its 33rd anniversary with a lavish spring banquet featuring popular bands Go Five and Mi Xian. The event, marked by generous employee bonuses, reflected the company’s strong performance.

Chairman Cheng Kai-lung announced ambitious expansion plans for its flagship brands, ShareTea and UG, including continued domestic expansion and aggressive international growth. A key focus is the US market, particularly in Arizona and Texas, spurred by the growth of TSMC’s manufacturing facilities. Lianfa is actively cultivating relationships with Arizona’s governor and mayor to facilitate this expansion, aiming to create a “Taiwanese City” in the region.

ShareTea, already boasting over 500 stores across 14 countries, will further expand into Mexico, South America, and India. UG, launched just last year, has already opened 8 stores in five months, with some locations achieving nearly NT$4 million in monthly revenue. The brand’s success has led to a contract renewal with its celebrity endorsers, Go Five, and plans for expansion into Hong Kong, the US, and Southeast Asia.

Lianfa also plans to diversify into food, exploring options such as lu rou fan (braised pork rice). To mitigate potential challenges, the company is proactively establishing logistics warehouses in California, Washington, Texas, and other US locations to reduce costs for franchisees and improve profitability. Nearly 100 franchisees are already signed up for the North American market.

Lianfa’s strategic move to the US follows similar expansions by other Taiwanese companies. 85°C Bakery Cafe is expanding in the Phoenix area, with plans to add 10-13 stores this year and reach over 100 by next year’s first half. Jing Yen Banquet Hall, a subsidiary of Yu-Yueh International, is also exploring a joint commercial and retail venture in Kumamoto, Japan. These companies are capitalizing on the growth of TSMC’s global presence to enhance their international profiles.
