**[City, State] –** The first day of Navratri saw massive crowds thronging temples across the district. Devotees, predominantly women, began their day with rituals including fasting, bathing, and meditation, before preparing for the Kalash Sthapana (pot installation) ceremony at home. The Kalash were installed amidst Vedic chants, with the accompanying Akhand Jyot (uninterrupted flame) to burn for the next nine days alongside daily prayers and worship.

Significant crowds were reported at prominent temples including Ghopaila Temple in Gyanpur, Purani Durga Temple in Gopiganj, Kakrahi Durga Temple, and Kali Temple in Bhadohi, with long queues forming early in the morning. Both men and women participated in large numbers.

Navratri holds immense religious significance in Hinduism. Following the Kalash Sthapana, many women also offered prayers at local village deities and other shrines.
