**NEW DELHI** – Delhi police have detained a man after the discovery of a decomposed woman’s body inside a bed box in a Shahdara flat on Friday. The victim, believed to be in her late 40s, was found wrapped in a blanket within a storage compartment of the DDA flat.
Police responded to a call reporting a foul odor emanating from the apartment. Upon arrival, officers found the flat locked from the outside with traces of blood near the back door. The body, showing signs of decomposition consistent with a death two to three days prior, was discovered after police forced entry.
Vivekanand Mishra, the owner of the flat and a man in his late 50s, has been taken into custody for questioning. Sources indicate Mishra visited the apartment on Thursday night and Friday afternoon. Police are currently working to identify the deceased.
A forensic team has examined the crime scene, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
