Sat Mar 29 11:50:00 UTC 2025: **Baltimore Cherry Blossoms Expected to Peak Early, Weather Could Impact Display**
BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore residents and visitors are urged to enjoy the city’s cherry blossoms, expected to reach peak bloom between Sunday, March 30, and Wednesday, April 2. This is slightly earlier than usual, mirroring a trend seen in 2023 due to milder winter temperatures. However, a potential severe weather alert has been issued for Monday, March 31, which could impact the blossoms’ display.
The National Park Service (NPS) defines peak bloom as when approximately 70% of the blossoms are open. While warm, breezy, and humid weather is anticipated before the storm, strong winds and heavy rain could shorten the peak bloom period.
Several locations offer prime viewing opportunities, including Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine (over 150 trees), Druid Hill Park, the Baltimore Museum of Art Sculpture Garden, Sherwood Gardens, Morgan State University’s campus, Wyman Park near Johns Hopkins University, and Centennial Park in Howard County.
The CBS Baltimore First Alert Weather Team is monitoring the situation closely and advises residents to check weather updates for potential impacts on the cherry blossom viewing.
