**Kannur, March 29, 2025** – Assistant Commandant R. Rabijith, a 24-year-old trainee officer at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, tragically died on Friday during a routine training exercise. Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the naval hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Rabijith, a native of Mahe, was enrolled in the 41st Naval Orientation Course (Regular) for the Coast Guard, having joined the academy in December 2024. He was described by officials as a dedicated and promising officer trainee.
The Indian Navy has launched an inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
