**CHICAGO** – Over 4,000 packages of Our Family Foods Traverse City Cherry Decaffeinated Ground Coffee are being recalled due to a mislabeling error, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Monday. The Class II recall, initiated March 13th, affects 692 cases of 12-ounce bags sold in 15 states.
The FDA states that the affected coffee, with a “BEST BEFORE 080325 V 15:37 C” date and UPC code 0 70253 11080 1, may not be decaffeinated, posing a potential risk to consumers sensitive to caffeine. The mislabeling occurred during production.
The recall impacts products sold in Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Consumers who purchased the affected coffee are urged to return it to the place of purchase.
Our Family Foods, in a statement, reaffirmed its commitment to quality but did not immediately respond to Fox Business’ request for further comment. The FDA classifies this as a Class II recall, indicating the potential for temporary or reversible adverse health consequences.
