**Hubballi, March 29, 2025** – Karnataka Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar visited Hindalga jail on Saturday following complaints from residents of Hindalga village about disruptions caused by the jail’s mobile network jammers. Villagers reported significant difficulties conducting daily activities due to the jammers’ wide range, rendering their mobile phones unusable.
After discussions with jail authorities, who cited security concerns as the reason for the jammers, Minister Hebbalkar requested a reduction in the jammers’ range to mitigate the impact on residents. The jail authorities explained their security concerns, prompting the minister to negotiate a compromise that would allow residents to use their mobile phones without compromising prison security.
