Sat Mar 29 08:49:20 UTC 2025: ## Experienced Coach Stuart Law Takes Helm of Nepal Cricket Team

**Kathmandu, Nepal** – Veteran Australian cricketer Stuart Law has been appointed as the new head coach of the Nepal men’s national cricket team. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced a two-year contract for the 56-year-old, replacing Monty Desai.

Law, a former Australian international with a wealth of coaching experience, brings an impressive resume to the role. He most recently guided the United States men’s team to the Super 8 stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup – a remarkable achievement considering it was their inaugural appearance. This included a stunning upset victory over Pakistan. His previous coaching stints include leading the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan national teams.

Nepal faces crucial upcoming matches, including World Cup League 2 games against Scotland and the Netherlands in June – vital for qualification for the 2027 Cricket World Cup. They will also participate in the qualifiers for the 2026 T20 World Cup in October after a disappointing showing in the 2024 edition. Law’s vast experience and proven ability to lead teams to success will be key as Nepal aims to improve its international standing.
