**MUMBAI, INDIA** – In a bold move that’s capturing imaginations worldwide, retired Indian Army Captain Gaurav Gautam and his wife, Vaidehi Chitnavis, have traded their conventional life for a life of adventure aboard their 42-foot sailboat, the “Reeva,” named after their daughter’s middle name.

The couple, after seven years of meticulous planning by Capt. Gautam, embarked on their journey in 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic unexpectedly provided a window of opportunity, making boat purchases more affordable. With a shared dream and a swift “yes” from Vaidehi, they sold their assets, quit their jobs, and set sail, embracing a minimalist life at sea.
