Sat Mar 29 11:08:20 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Schools Ordered to Tackle Noise Pollution from Parking and Honking

**New Delhi, March 29, 2025** – The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has directed all private and government schools to address noise pollution caused by unauthorized parking and excessive honking near school premises. Following a directive from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), schools have been instructed to write to local police station house officers (SHOs) to report these issues and submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) by March 3rd.

The move comes in response to concerns raised by school administrators about the difficulties caused by congestion and unruly parking. R.N. Jindal, Chairperson of Sovereign School in Rohini, highlighted the challenges of cleaning around the school due to overnight parking, while Shudha Acharya, Principal of ITL International School in Dwarka, emphasized the struggle to manage unauthorized parking outside the school gates.

Both administrators welcomed the DoE’s initiative, stating that they hope police intervention will alleviate the problems. Beyond addressing immediate parking concerns, the CPCB has also requested the education department to collaborate with local bodies to raise awareness about noise pollution and to support the Department of Environment in organizing related webinars for schools. The CPCB’s request underscores a broader effort to enforce the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2002.
