**TIRUPATI, March 29, 2025** – A new state-of-the-art blood bank and research center was inaugurated today at Amara Hospital in Renigunta, near Tirupati. The facility, a joint venture between Amara Hospital and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), boasts cutting-edge technology for blood collection, testing, processing, and storage.
The inauguration was presided over by TTD trust board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy and Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy, along with Amara Hospital chairman Prasad Gourineni and managing director Dr. Ramadevi Gourineni.
The facility offers a wide range of blood products, including whole blood, packed cells, and various plasma derivatives, available 24/7 to both hospitalized patients and the general public. Dr. Ramadevi, a neurologist, highlighted the comprehensive services offered, including stem cell and molecular research capabilities.
However, hospital officials expressed concern over the current shortage of blood donations, urging the public to contribute generously to meet the growing demand. Mr. Gourineni, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, appealed for increased blood donations to ensure sufficient supplies. The new facility aims to address this critical need in the region.
