**Bengaluru, India –** A 32-year-old woman, Gauri Anil Sambekar, was found murdered and stuffed in a suitcase at her residence near Hulimavu, Bengaluru. Her husband, Rakesh Sambekar, has been arrested in Pune, Maharashtra, following a confession to Gauri’s parents and subsequent police investigation.
Police received a tip-off from Maharashtra Police after Rakesh contacted Gauri’s family and admitted to the crime. Responding to an initial report of a suspected hanging, officers discovered the locked suitcase containing Gauri’s body in the bathroom. While the body was intact, police noted severe injury marks.
