**NANDYAL, March 28, 2025** – The five-day Ugadi Mahotsavams festival commenced Thursday at the Sri Bhramarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, with elaborate religious ceremonies and a significant police presence to ensure smooth proceedings.

The festivities kicked off with traditional rituals including Yagasala Pravesham, Vedaparayanam, Ganapati Puja, and Chandiswara Puja. In the evening, Ankurarpana was performed. The processional deities of Goddess Bhramarambha and Lord Mallikarjuna were paraded through the temple streets.

Anticipating large crowds, Nandyal police have implemented extensive security measures. Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana detailed a substantial deployment: six deputy superintendents of police, 40 circle inspectors, 100 sub-inspectors, 1,500 civil police personnel, 400 personnel from Armed Police and AP Special Police, and 100 special party police officers. Surveillance is being conducted using 800 CCTV cameras and three drones. Bomb disposal squads are stationed at entry points, and metal detectors are being used to screen devotees.

Traffic management is also a key focus, with 15 Blue Colts and 10 Rakshak vehicles deployed to monitor traffic flow and address any congestion. Towing vehicles are on standby to remove any broken-down vehicles. Dedicated traffic police personnel are also in place. The SP emphasized the commitment to ensuring smooth traffic flow to and within the temple town.
